Grove Market was constructed and founded by Greek immigrant, Pete Savas, in 1947. The original business idea was for a neighborhood grocery/produce store in which Pete’s children could all learn to manage as they grew. After Pete’s passing in 1953, his family took over full operation of the store and continue to this day. In response to growing competition the family decided to create additional services to the neighborhood corner-store in the early 1970s. A deli was constructed within the building by friends and family, which has since proved to become one of the most well-known little secrets in Salt Lake City, Utah to find amazing food at fair and reasonable prices.
